Infusing off-balance rhythms and moody basslines with deep introspection, the Los Angeles producer’s eclectic sound has propelled him from nascent beatmaker into a true force within the beat community.

Selected by Flying Lotus as a finalist at the 2015 Low End Theory Beat Invitational, Samurai Guru has racked up almost three million plays on SoundCloud for his easy-eyed track “Calm Mornings.” Now signed to the influential Los Angeles label Alpha Pup, the producer has also released music on Cult Classic Records (UK), Nekubi Tapes (Greece), and Cold Busted (Los Angeles). 

Guru is in the midst of creating a three-album trilogy inspired by his personal path through relationship struggles, new responsibilities, and artistic growth. The LP Medosphere: The Atmosphere of Melodies (Cold Busted, 2016) launched the trilogy with an aura of troubled contemplation, setting the stage for a shifted trajectory in Recalibrate (Alpha Pup, 2018). Guru will release the final installment in early 2020 on Alpha Pup, an album of growth and expansion fueled by continuing self-evaluation.
