See Your Sound
Get a deeper understanding of your sound than ever before with VISION 4X, a powerful visual analysis plugin with maximum precision.
Developed in partnership with electronic music trio NOISIA, VISION 4X gives you the insights you need to prepare your tracks ready for competition with today’s top mixes, and the clarity to make the right mixing decisions with confidence – however modest your setup.
Four Visual Dimensions
VISION 4X combines four custom-built visual analysis tools that work simultaneously in real-time, including a spectrogram, bar graph, waveform and phase correlation meter. Each analyser is displayed in its own resizable window, allowing you to scale the plugin’s UI to suit your workflow.
Perfectly sync VISION 4X to your DAW and customise the analysis timeframe for any project. Choose to run the analysers continuously, or loop a section of time and let them overlay. Alternatively, if you want to hone in on a particular sound, set the plugin to retrigger whenever a MIDI signal is received – ideal for comparing kicks in real-time.
Spectrogram
VISION 4X’s powerful spectrogram provides enhanced low-end resolution, offering access to more information about the frequencies in your mix. Freeze the visualiser for a snapshot of your sound, zoom in to get a close-up of the frequency spectrum, and navigate the display to discover details that otherwise could be missed.
A selection of visualisation modes allows you to see your sound in whatever way you require. Transient mode is designed for showing the start and end point of notes, Harmonic mode gives a more detailed look at the harmonic content of a signal, and All-round offers the best solution for a general overview of your audio.
Customise the spectrogram’s display with ten Colour Maps to choose from, each one specifically selected for maximum information density when analysing sound. Brightness can be biased towards the low or high frequencies using Map Bias, and Range Hz and Range Db sliders give you total control over the frequency and volume range of the display.
Bar Graph
VISION 4X’s bar graph is a fully customisable spectrum analyser that can highlight the gain levels of the sustained frequencies in your sound. Choose to get an overview of how frequencies are distributed in your mix, or an intricate analysis, by varying the number of bars shown in the graph. The Speed of the bar graph’s movement can be adjusted to run alongside your track however you see fit, and you can easily spot peak levels using the Peak Hold sustain control.
VISION 4X also has a Spectrum Highlight feature that indicates resonant frequencies, which can be tailored for sensitivity and matched with the colour coding of the spectrogram.
Understand and improve the balance of your mix by comparing it with reference curves from a range of genres, generated through an in-depth analysis of hundreds of tracks. Each reference curve has an average and a maximum value line, with overshooting clearly indicated in red – the perfect visual feedback tool for assurance in your mixing decisions.
Waveform
As well as the spectrogram and bar graph, VISION 4X features a waveform analyser that enables you to carefully inspect your sound source. Alongside the plugin's other visualisers, you can use the waveform analyser to magnify soundwaves and gain valuable pitch, volume and timing information, with an intuitive colour-coded display.
The waveform analyser is accompanied by VU and RMS metering tools, allowing you to assess volume and loudness levels with ease. Keep track of the headroom for your mix with an overshoot highlighting feature that informs you when levels are going above 0dB.
Phase Correlation Meter
Explore the stereo dimensions of your sound with VISION 4X’s phase correlation meter, a tool that gives you an impression of your stereo spread and helps you to determine phase differences between the left and right channels. Any phase issues are clearly displayed along the centre line, helping you to maintain alignment and prevent any loss of audio when you’re converting to mono.

Colourful Dynamic Control
Right from the early days of the studio, compressors and been essential to the sound of music. Today, compression is used more than ever before, and in many more applications.
Lifeline Comp puts characterful dynamics control at the forefront and lets you choose between three compression types to suit a variety of sources and uses.
The Comp module provides three compression styles to deal with different production tasks. Analogue smooths out signals and imparts the character of revered compressor hardware. Transparent gives a clean, modern response that’s great for catching peaks while retaining a sound’s body. Variable provides an input-dependent response that’s great for smoothing vocals, glueing busses, and for mastering applications.
Controls on the Comp module include Threshold, Ratio, Attack and Release. Lifeline Console’s unique Auto-Makeup control simplifies the make-up gain process, by listening to your audio, taking an average of your audio signal and applying the exact amount of gain required.
Further features include a Dry/Wet mix for parallel processing, a bandpass filter for frequency-specific compression and a gain reduction meter. As with all Lifeline Console modules, the compressor offers Mid/Side and Left/Right functionality for full control over the stereo field.

Creative Textural Layers
Lifeline Wear allows you to use noise, hum, artefacts and dropouts to shape a sound’s tone and feel. Add life, realism or even a lo-fi texture to a mix, and use these factors creatively as part of your sound design and production workflow.
Three Wear modes – Tape, Vinyl and Cassette bring three types of recogniseable degradation to your audio, and the Age control introduces the saturation and deterioration that occurs over time in these formats.
Noise properties in the Lifeline Wear include Amp (hiss), Hum (electrical noise), Mechanical (physical movement and whir), and Dust (light artefacts). These signals can be ducked or triggered by input audio, letting you harness noise as a creative effect. The interactive display also reacts to your audio, noise, age, artefacts and dropouts.
Create musical elements out of your Artefacts and Dropouts such as light rhythms and subtle gating by syncing them to your project tempo.

Shape Tonal Balance
Sculpting the frequency range of your audio is essential both for shaping the tonal balance of each channel and for allowing each element its own place in a mix.
Lifeline EQ offers a classic parametric four-band approach with a choice of three modes. Gain mode offers a clean circuit for simple and precise EQ jobs. Vintage Circuit mode introduces additional harmonics to drive a signal when boosting. Dirty Circuit mode brings all-out saturation and distortion into the EQing process.
With a low cut or shelf filter, low-mid and high-mid bands, plus a high cut or shelf filter, and the ability to work in 3dB or 30dB modes, Lifeline Console’s EQ offers everything from subtle tone shaping to powerful harmonic enhancement.

A New Dimension
Enhancing your tracks with reverb can add a rich, organic quality, transforming your mixes into a more immersive experience where reflections echo and decay, building natural room and depth.
Lifeline Expanse’s ultra-flexible Space module has been designed so it can be used early in a signal chain as a reverb effect pedal or placed at the end to create a limitless environment for your instruments to explore.
Taking inspiration from classic reverb functions, Lifeline Space focuses on four different algorithms that each offer a wide spectrum of space and time manipulation – the resulting reflections can be realistic and organic or synthetically stretched out. With reverb, time and space are key, and Sapce gives you the parameters and tools to precisely apply as much as you need.
- Plate: A classic, fast sounding plate reverb producing the sound of vibrations through metal.
- Hall: A real-sounding room reverb at its smallest and a large concert hall at its largest.
- Spring: An emulation of the metallic and vintage-sounding spring reverb from a guitar amp.
- Slap: Slapback delay that can either add a single realistic, early reflection or create metallic feedback mayhem.
