The AudioThing Echo Bundle is a dream come true for lovers of vintage delay, tape echoes, and experimental sound design. This collection features six unique plugins, each capturing the sonic character of classic and rare echo units.
From the hauntingly lo-fi Wires, a Soviet wire recorder turned ghostly echo machine, to the lush analog warmth of Outer Space 2’s vintage tape echo, this bundle is packed with character and creative potential. Mantis brings the unmistakable sound of a 70s BBD delay, while Reels emulates the quirks of an old Japanese reel-to-reel recorder, perfect for adding nostalgic textures.
For those who love pushing sonic boundaries, Things - Bubbles offers a filterbank delay with 10 resonant bands for wild, evolving echoes. And if you’re after pure retro vibes, miniVerb delivers authentic 8-bit reverb and chiptune-style slapback echo, straight from the golden age of gaming.
Whether you're looking for warm, analog echoes, gritty lo-fi textures, or experimental delay effects, the AudioThing Echo Bundle has something to inspire every producer and sound designer.

Wires
Soviet Wire Recorder Echo
Turn the echoes of the past into the music of now.
German composer and YouTuber Hainbach opened his treasure chest for us: AudioThing are happy to present to you Wires, an accurately modelled and enhanced 1970s Soviet wire recorder. Made originally for military and secret service use across the Iron Curtain, in the hands of a few avant-garde musicians it became a magical lofi-tool and ghostly echo machine. Now this rare and rather finicky-to-operate piece of hardware is available for the first time as a faithful yet modern plugin. Transform your audio to the world of numbers stations and secret operations, dub out to very unusual echoes or make the most lofi beats to study too.
AudioThing took great care to get all the idiosyncratic behaviour exactly right – it reacts dynamically to the input and does stuff to audio that is a completely different texture to magnetic tape. There is a special tone to the hair-thin wire and the vacuum tube output stage of this machine, unheard of anywhere else. The standard way to make a unit such as this music is to put it on an aux channel of a mixer, to turn it into a fixed tempo echo. AudioThing offer all the variable time features you want, as well as the option to switch off the rather high noise floor of this machine without sacrificing the rather alive sound.
Features
- Magnetic Wire Emulation
- Echo Section
- Original Speaker and Mic Emulation
- Start and Stop effects
- Hiss and Motor noise with Envelope
- Resizable Window
- Preset system with randomizer
- Output Trim
- Mono Switch
- Routing Switch

- Big Sur / Universal Binary
Outer Space 2
Vintage Tape Echo
Outer Space 2 is a faithful emulation plugin of a famous vintage tape echo made in the early seventies. As the original unit, Outer Space features an echo section with three playback heads and a spring reverb tank. Audiothing have modelled three different tape frequency responses and saturations, along with all the analog imperfections of tape recording/playback. They’ve also modelled the ballistic response of the delay rate (repeat rate) which can create eerie pitch shifts (due to the Doppler effect), one of the classic tape echo-based sound effects.
Features
- Vintage Tape Echo
- 3 Tape modes: Original, Modern, Old
- Spring Reverb (Dark/Bright and Short/Long)
- Background Noise with Envelope
- Oversample up to 16x
- Resizable Window
- Preset system with randomizer

Mantis
Vintage BBD Echo
Mantis is a plugin that emulates a rare BBD (bucket-brigade device) delay/echo unit of the 70s, faithfully recreating its warm and analog sound.
As the original unit, Mantis features an echo section with four taps and four swell selectors. It also features the rotafaze section, a modulation that can mimic the wow/flutter of a tape echo or turn the unit into a unique chorus-delay.
Features
- Analog Modelled BBD Echo Delay
- 4 Taps, 4 Swell
- Vintage and Modern modes
- Rotafaze Modulation
- Resizable Window
- Preset system with randomizer
Reels
Reel To Reel
Reels is a tape emulation plugin with a built-in echo section and tape-stop effect.
Based on an old Japanese portable tape recorder with a very distinct Lo-Fi analogue sound, Reels emulates all the imperfections of consumer reel-to-reel recorders.
AudioThing has modelled three different 1/4” tape frequency responses and saturations, along with all the analogue imperfections of tape recording/playback.
Reels will add a very rough retro analogue sound to your mixes. If you are looking for a Hi-Fi mastering tape emulation, this is not the plugin for you!
Features
- Vintage Tape Emulation
- Tape Start and Tape Stop Effect
- 3 Tape types
- Echo Section
- Speaker and Mic Emulation
- Hiss and Motor noise with Envelope
- 50 Presets
- Resizable Window
- Preset system with randomizer
Things - Bubbles
Sparkling Filterbank Delay
Things - Bubbles is an unusual filter bank effect plugin aimed at experimental sound design. You can use up to 10 band pass filters, represented by bubbles in the UI, with controllable resonance. Each band can have a dedicated delay with feedback. You can spread the cutoff, resonance, delay time, and delay feedback across each band to get very creative effects, from odd sounding echoes/reverbs to impossible sequences.
Features
- 10-band Filterbank
- Delay for each band
- Preset system with randomizer
- Resizable Window

miniVerb
8-BIT / Chiptune Echo Reverb Effect
miniVerb is an 8-bit/chiptune and lofi reverb effect inspired by the sound of 80s game consoles and retro computers.
Early consoles didn’t have much power for DSP effects, so the video game composers at that time had to improvise. The most common way to add a sense of space/reverb to the sound was to sacrifice one of the internal tracks to play a delayed version of the original sound, essentially using a slapback echo to add depth.
The technique evolved and eventually, consoles started to take advantage of more power for real internal effects.
miniVerb recreates that classic digital echo/reverb sound, made famous by iconic consoles such as the NES and SNES, topping it with two flters (post/pre), vibrato, and crusher (bit crusher, downsampler, pitch shifter).
Features
- Pre/Post Filter (LP/HP)
- Echo (single/double mode)
- Vibrato
- Crusher (bit-crusher, downsampler, pitch shifter)
- 45 Presets
- Preset randomizer
