A Legendary Reverb, Reborn
Glow was given its name for the distinct and instantly recognizable character it can impart on any sound. Glow is to sound what neon is to colour! Its otherworldly and futuristic reverbs are the perfect complement for synthetic sounds or transforming the ordinary into the unexpected.
The iconic NonLin 2 reverb program, a beast on drums, was meant to emulate the now legendary sound of a gated room, and the Reverse programs can create a three-dimensional space that is both instantly recognizable and like nothing you’ve heard in real life. The vibrant Ambience program can create a near infinite space – perfect for lush synths and atmospheric vocals.
With 14 unique programs ranging from Halls, Plates and Rooms, to the abstract and creative – Glow is an instant ticket to surreal and retro future reverb spaces.
Shape
One of the secret ingredients of great drum reverb is lowering the initial transient of a drum sound before processing with reverb. Glow makes this effortless with Smooth. Intelligently suppress transients and focus the reverb on the body and sustain without altering the original dry signal. Get your percussive reverb sounding warmer, fuller and thicker instantly.
Make space in the mix with Glow’s Duck control. Intelligent volume ducking allows you to get rich reverbs that stay out of the way of the dry signal.
Modulate
Go from subtle 3D spatialization and diffusion to deep chorusing and lush stereo modulation with a single control.
Don’t let the simplicity of Glow’s Flux parameter deceive you. Under the hood are a complex series of stereo filter, width and pitch modulations. All custom built for reverb specific modulation for a never-ending sweet spot.
Iconic Sound
Glow delivers the legendary sound of the original reverb exactly as it sounded in the 1980s; including both the sought-after classic reverb programs alongside a collection of much rarer programs only found in very early hardware units.
We spent months modelling and analysing every detail of the original sound until it was indistinguishable from our original unit. Beyond this we enhanced the original sound even further with modern tools for even deeper reverb tails and increased dynamic range.
Modern
The original sound is an undeniable classic, but Glow lets you take this sound even further with a high-fidelity mode for modern music. The Modern parameter provides an enhanced stereo image for tighter bass and a punchy tone circuit that helps your reverb cut through a busy mix.
Duck
Get both a punchy direct sound and atmospheric reverb tails at the same time without either competing for space. Automatically lower the reverb sound based on the direct volume without complex side chaining or routing. Glow’s single parameter Duck control makes it easy to get the perfect balance between your direct and reverb signal.
Gate
The NonLin 2 program is an iconic gated reverb, but Glow lets you take the classic gated reverb sound even further. With the included Gate parameter, you can make every program a gated reverb. Sophisticated internal sidechain makes this process easy and accurate by setting the decay time based on the input signal.

A Legend Reimagined
Before the EMT 140 reverb was released in 1957, the only option for musicians and engineers to capture a realistic sense of space in their music was to record in a bigger room or use echo chambers.
By using an 8×4 foot sheet of metal in a solid wooden box engineers were able to recreate a sense of space in a brand new way that became known as Plate Reverb. This distinctly analogue process meant each and every plate reverb has its own sonic fingerprint.
Some were darker, some were brighter, some were longer and others were shorter. With this in mind we travelled to numerous top studios around the world to find the seven most iconic examples of this legendary Plate Reverb Sound.
Radiance is a sonic encyclopedia of classic plate reverbs from the past 60 years.
7 Vintage Plates
Because no two 140 plates sound the same, we set about finding the seven most unique sounding examples of this classic reverb at various studios around the world.
Chosen for their distinct qualities, we modelled each one in exquisite detail and usefully named them after their immediate sonic character.
From dark and moody, to beautifully vibrant and airy, Radiance’s plate models cover a wide sonic spectrum.
Modern Control
Going far beyond a typical emulation, Radiance gives you quick and easy access to powerful modern features that often require multiple plugins, complex routing and considerable time.
Take the iconic 140 plate sound to new dimensions with rich modulation, ducking, mid / side EQ, gating, dual-band stereo width, transient shaping, reverb character modes and much more…
The Plates
From deep and weighty, to lush and airy, Radiance’s seven plate modes model some of the most sought after plate reverb sounds in existence.
Air
Some original EMT-140s came equipped with an internal input filter that could add perceivable brightness and reduced low end. The Air model uses this technique to create a bright and airy reverb sound which is ideal for adding a sense of space around vocals, strings and drums.
Classic
Modelled on a plate from a major studio with a world-famous owner. This specific plate can be heard on countless hit records, with a near endless list of pop and rock classics. With a very even sound, this plate delivers a rich and balanced tone.
Clear
Hidden away in a studio that doubles as a rehearsal space for a famous country and rock band that has been releasing music for the past 38 years. The Clear plate is similar to the Classic plate, with a brighter top and deeper bass for a crystal clear sound.
Crisp
A converted mono to stereo plate, Crisp delivers a distinctly bright and short sound. With a shortest reverb time of just 400ms this is the tightest and shortest plate we found anywhere. Perfect for bright slap back, modulated chorus effects and tight gated drums.
Dark
Modelled on a Plate living in one of the most beautiful studios in the world, the Dark model is the ultimate plate sound for deep and rich reverb. Whether looking for lush vocals or low mid ambience that sits effortlessly into a mix, Dark is the deepest plate reverb we found anywhere.
Tube
The Tube Plate once lived in a world-famous studio that was used on countless records by the royalty of 70s rock. Sitting tonally between the Classic and Dark Plates, Tube is heavily coloured by its tube electronics for a weighty sound with just the right touch of high end sparkle.
Vintage
Nestled away in the machine room of a modern recording studio we found a restored Plate reverb with a distinct mid forward sound. The perfect compliment to the Classic reverb sound, Vintage features a smooth top end and moderate bass which sounds great when collapsed with Radiance’s phase coherent mono mode.

A New Dawn for Reverb
Released in 1976 with an impressive $20,000 price tag, the EMT 250 changed the face of music production forever – the digital age of reverb had arrived.
Sometimes nicknamed ‘R2D2’ due to its futuristic 70’s sci fi design, the 250 was a heavy floor-standing beast with an impressive feature set, controlled via 4 oversized levers.
In contrast to the mechanical Plate reverbs it succeeded, the 250 had a beautifully clear and open sound, with a wonderful three-dimensional depth and low noise floor.
Still to this day regarded by many as the best digital reverb ever created, with only 250 units ever made, Dawn faithfully captures the lush sound of this classic unit and takes things much further with modern sound shaping controls.
Magic Sound
Recreate the magic of the iconic 250 reverb and instantly add vivid space, clarity and 3D depth to drums, synths, vocals and guitars.
Dawn gives you access to the full range of reverb times from the original unit, from 0.4 seconds through to 4.5 seconds, alongside the distinctive Low Frequency Decay and High Frequency Decay (damping) controls. Get creative with the immersive Space mode, with a near endless decay time – great for ethereal pads and synths.
Modern Control
Going far beyond the possibilities of the original unit, Dawn boasts an extended set of powerful modern features that often require multiple plugins, complex routing, and considerable time to set up.
Take the classic 250 sound to new dimensions with lush modulation, ducking, mid / side EQ, gating, dual-band stereo width, transient shaping, reverb character modes and more…
Immaculate Emulation
Dawn uses a well thought out hybrid approach of DSP and Convolution to achieve its accurate sound and character.
We spent months modelling and analysing every detail of the 250 until it was indistinguishable from our original vintage unit. Beyond this, we added a switchable ‘Modern’ mode which enhances the original sound further for even clearer reverb tails and increased dynamic range.

Pulse
In 1984 an entry level digital reverb was released that would go on to have a profound impact on modern music. Finding a home in nearly every high-end studio over the past 30 years, the original PCM-60 became synonymous with tight and punchy 80s reverb.
We’ve taken the soul and character of this iconic hardware reverb and brought it into the 21st century with advanced DSP and modern workflow enhancements.
Introducing Pulse – A modern take on the classic PCM sound. Available now as an AU, VST3 and AAX plugin for macOS and Windows.
Iconic PCM Reverb
PCM refers to Pulse Code Modulation, the technology introduced in the early 80s that would go on to become the primary method for processing digital audio. Over the years this technology would improve considerably, but in 1984 it was considered now what we would label Lo-fi, Grainy or Unrealistic. This was in stark contrast to the Plates and Springs of the 1960s which sounded Organic, Natural and Clean.
However, fast forward nearly 40 years and it is exactly these characteristics that make this reverb so desirable again today. Its sound is characterful, punchy and unmistakable.
The original unit was limited in features and was often used as a send on a mixing console where EQ, Compression and other studio processing could be used to enhance it further. With Pulse, we’ve not only implemented custom DSP and tone shaping controls to bring this classic into the modern era, but we’ve done so in a way that makes it effortless and easy to dial in – whether you’re a producer looking for professional results quickly, or a songwriter just getting started in engineering your own vocals…
Shape
The initial portion of a sound is often the loudest, this is called the transient. loud transients can cause Reverb to sound thin or weak because the sustain portion, or tail, of the sound is much quieter.
Pulse’s Shape parameter solves this problem by intelligently lowering the transient volume to make the Reverb signal lusher, thicker and darker in tone, all without changing the original dry signal or needing unnecessary sends with additional processors like traditional reverbs.
Modulate
Our custom tuned Flux control was developed on our years of experience using hardware reverbs. One of the most important elements that all great reverbs have in common is the sense of space and movement they create.
Flux creates this same behaviour and sonic depth through clever level-dependant filtering and creative under-the-hood modulation. Used subtly it can add a gentle sense of 3D movement and depth. At extreme levels you can explore totally new worlds of lush chorus-like modulation and lo-fi textures.
Stunning Emulation
Modern reverbs often use one of two technologies for the way the sound is generated. Either through writing DSP code which emulates the sound, known as an Algorithmic reverb, or by capturing a model of the sound in a method known as Convolution Reverb.
Algorithmic Reverbs have the advantage of being more natural sounding while Convolution Reverbs tend to be more accurate. When we set out to make the most accurate emulation of classic reverb units we chose a hybrid method that combines complex DSP of Algorithmic reverbs with the accurate modelling of Convolution.
Sound
One of the drawbacks of Impulse Responses is that they are only as good as the way they are recorded. Drawing on our decades of expertise in sampling, we acquired a pristine condition PCM-60 and sampled every possible reverb variation using mastering grade converters. We then went a step further and enhanced the dynamic range to create a noiseless and extended version beyond what was possible with the original unit.
Our Shape and Duck controls make complex dynamics processing possible with a single control. Effortlessly place reverb in your mix without complex routing or additional processing. Not only does this allow for a more modern and professional sound but it gives you the flexibility of using Pulse directly on your track as an insert.
Movement
Flux is a custom-built DSP algorithm for adding dynamic movement, modulation and natural width to the reverb signal. Take the original sound into totally new directions, from subtle organic diffusion to lush modulation.
Smoothing
Smooth is a custom-built pre-reverb transient shaper, specifically designed to suppress transients going into the reverb, without affecting the dry signal. This allows for softer and darker sounding reverbs that sound very natural.
Ducking
Duck is an automatic volume ducker for the reverb signal relative to the incoming wet signal. Get thick and lush reverbs that stay out of the way and keep from overwhelming the dry signal.
