Transgressor sets a new standard for transient design by combining transient shaping with two 4-band equalizers, giving you the unprecedented power to EQ attack and sustain individually. Now you can craft the sound of your drums any way you want, whether it’s subtle enhancement or changing the sound of an entire kit, and more.
- Independent EQ for your transients and sustains
- Increase or soften the impact of your drums
- Internal, external and MIDI triggers
Not Just Another Transient Designer
If we were to dissect the sound of a single drum hit, we would discover an incredibly complex series of events, all happening in rapid succession, that creates the unique tone of each drum. From the attack of the stick to the resonance of the head, these short time slices add together to create what we hear as the tone. This is why it’s such a shame that the standard is to rely on static EQ to sculpt the tone of our drums. To put it bluntly, EQ is just not a very good tool for the job, especially if drastic changes are needed.
Enter Transgressor. Transgressor breaks up your drum hits into separate sections: Transient (attack) and Sustain and lets you control the volume and EQ of those sections independently. This opens up huge potential for dialing in your drums to sound exactly the way you want them too.
Do you need a sharper attack on your snare but don’t want a harsh ring? Just boost the high end of the attack only.
Does your kick drum ring out too long, cluttering your low end? Just take some low frequencies out of the sustain of your kick to retain the deep impact without the rumble.
Is your snare too harsh but you don’t want to deaden the resonance? Just remove some of the high end from the attack.
Power + Ease of Use
It’s not easy to create a plugin that so drastically changes the game while being easy and intuitive to use, but once you try it out, you will instantly click with what it can do.
Break the Rules
Because Transgressor lets you EQ such small slices of time, it also opens up a whole set of new possibilities on how you use your EQ. The traditional rules of EQ can be thrown out the window. That resonant shelf filter on your parametric EQ that no sane person in the history of music making has ever used? It suddenly becomes useful. 20dB of low end boost on your kick? Go for it. You don’t have to be shy when it comes to extreme settings anymore.
