Often referred to as the “Transistor Pultec” due to its shared Western Electric design lineage, the PEQ-2 has long been considered a "secret weapon" by those lucky enough to own one.

Once again, Heritage Audio has stepped in to make this nearly forgotten gem accessible to all. After successfully recreating the legendary hardware unit in 2022, Heritage Audio is uniquely positioned to bring its authentic character into the digital realm. Until now, no plugin has truly done justice to the original—but that has finally changed.

Following months of meticulous modeling, the LANG PEQ-2 plugin is now available, delivering all the power, warmth, and sonic magic of the hardware unit in a convenient native plugin format.

At Last, a LANG PEQ-2 Plugin That Honors the Hardware

Despite its simple and intuitive layout, the PEQ-2 is capable of extreme yet musical processing. With independent Boost and Droop (Cut) controls for both the High and Low bands, users can quickly transform their material in unexpected and creative ways.

The ability to boost and cut at the same or similar frequencies produces unique EQ curves that open up new sonic possibilities. Experimentation is key, but the potential of this feature becomes immediately apparent.

Beyond Low Shelf Boost and Cut and High Shelf Cut, the PEQ-2 also offers a High Peak Boost with a fully adjustable Q (Bandwidth) control, ranging from sharp to broad for total tonal flexibility. Additionally, the boost range dynamically adjusts based on the selected Bandwidth setting, ensuring a smooth and natural response at all times—an incredibly intelligent and musical design.
