Mäag Audio EQ4 MS
Control Mäag Audio’s flagship EQ and its AIR BAND® like never before
Overview
The Mäag EQ4M™ is a 6-band dual-channel mastering equalizer and the foundation of the Mäag EQ4-MS, which, in addition to the hardware features, offers mid/side processing, cut filters, a soft limiter designed by Mäag Audio, and extended functionality utilizing Brainworx's established developments, such as Tolerance Modeling Technology. The unique design of the EQ4 provides unparalleled transparency and top-end presence while maintaining the true natural sound behind the signal or mix. The EQ4-MS enhances its flexibility by allowing the selection between two optional center frequencies and bell characteristics in the lower bands.
Dual Channel
This true dual-channel processor offers optional mid/side processing, enabling stunning results by shaping the side signal's low midrange and adding AIR Band mojo, widening the soundstage. The Mäag Audio EQ4 MS plugin is Brainworx's latest development based on Cliff Mäag's filter design, including the impressive Air Band in a two-channel configuration, offering more options than ever before. Brainworx has carefully added unique features from the Mäag product line to the EQ4M, achieving maximum accurate stereo and MS processing without losing any of the predecessor's character.
Enhancements
Since the launch of the first Mäag EQ4 plugin in 2016, Brainworx has received valuable feature requests and implemented them in the EQ4 MS to enhance users' workflows. The sweepable AIR BAND® has set a standard for shiny and open high-end in both the analog and digital domains. As with the EQ4M studio hardware, the plugin allows users to select from the same six Air Band frequencies. The AIR BAND® can be heard on countless top hits mixed by renowned engineers such as David Reitzas, Dylan Dresdow, and Dave Pensado, among many others.
Mid/Side
Introducing MS-technology into equalization-processes always brings beneficial experience with the resulting product as troubling frequencies can be pushed out of focus while pulling hidden details in the stereo field to the front without concentrating that range in the center of the acoustic field. The former version of Maag EQ4 is not able to do this. In addition useful tools Brainworx have brought up since the first version of EQ4 was released are implemented to enrich the user experience and handle much more complex scenarios then v1 was capable of.
